Life Support and Shielding
LIFE SUPPORT
Life support is a measure of how much damage you can take before death. Whenever you take direct health damage, it will be subtracted from your life support. This also applies to enemies. They too have life support, and in order to defeat them, you must reduce them to 0.
Maximum life support is determined by your chosen character, equipment, and upgrades. No matter how much you heal or use health products, the number can never go above the maximum life support amount. There are many ways to increase your maximum health support, be it through modules, or by spending Shakras on increasing this number. ( More on Shakras later. )
SHIELDING
Shielding is a measure of how much damage you ignore before any incoming damage / attack hits your life support. Whenever you take damage from an enemy, your shield rating will absorb some of it, with the remainder then targeting your life support directly. The greater your shielding, the less damage gets through to hurt your life support.
This also applies to enemies. They too have shielding and in order to defeat them, you must reduce their life support to 0. Each attack you make on an enemy first is absorbed by their shield with the remainder then damaging their life support.
Maximum shielding is determined by your chosen character, equipment, and upgrades. There is no maximum that your shielding can hit. There are many ways to increase your shielding, be it through modules, or by spending Shakras on increasing this number.
Shielding does not need replenished. Your shielding is permanent. This also applies to enemies.
An example of life support and shielding:
Your life support: 10
Your shielding: 3
Enemy launches an attack on you which is will deal 6 attack. In this case, the 6 attack - 3 shielding = 3 direct damage to life support. In this scenario, you would be reduced to 7 life support.
